002. Illustrator Vectors in 3ds Max
Illustrator shapes can be used to create custom extrusions for things such as baseboards, raised logos, aluminum extrusions and so much more. Personally I find Illustrator easier to create shapes than 3ds Max. Here's a quick tip on how to bring your Illustrator shapes into 3ds Max.

  1. Draw your shape in Illustrator
(make sure the spline is closed)

  1. Save As > (name your file) press Save

3. You will now be in the "Illustrator Options" pop-up, choose "Illustrator 3" in the "Versions" drop down menu. > Press Ok

  1. Open Max and go to File > Import
  2. Choose "All files" under "Files of type"
6. Find your file and hit Open.

Once the shape is imported you can treat it like a spline. You can extrude, bevel and so on.
